Dr. Erika Pigg-Noriega

Born and raised in a very diverse area in Southern California, Dr. Pigg-Noriega grew up exposed to a range of socio-economic, ethnic, cultural, and racial groups. A combination of being raised by immigrant parents and interfacing with diverse people, Dr. Pigg-Noriega values respect, integrity, and compassion. 

As a first generation, Bilingual Spanish, multicultural provider, she is privy to the challenges that come with living in a liminal state and finding balance where parts of identity may come into conflict. As an example, a high achieving professional and devoted mother; a person-centered provider working in a productivity driven industry; etc. 

Professional Experience

After completing her undergraduate degree at UCLA, she earned her doctorate from the Clinical, Counseling, School Psychology Program at UC Santa Barbara. Dr. Pigg-Noriega completed her predoctoral internship at the Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology at the Boston University School of Medicine, where she received specialized training in applying multicultural and socially just practices in psychotherapy and leadership. She then completed a postdoctoral residency at Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa in the Department of Psychiatry, where she rotated among the Adult, Child, and Addiction Medicine teams. 

With over a decade of experience in Psychology, Dr. Pigg-Noriega has provided individual, couples, family, and group therapy services. She has earned specialized training in CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused care, family systems, solution-focused, positive psychology, and psychodynamic therapy. Despite all of the training and experience, Dr. Pigg-Noriega adamantly believes that the foundation to change in psychotherapy begins with building a relationship with you and developing insight into the issue.
